Marvelous March

The days seem to be flying by. The month of March is nearly over and I am not really sure where it went. Here are just a few of the fun things that kept us busy this month:

Scott was in Florida for work almost half of the month, so the boys and I found ways to keep ourselves entertained. Scott missed out on some of the fun, but he did get to go to an amusement park, hang at the beach, and meet baseball Hall of Fame star Ozzie Smith, so it wasn't all work and no play.

Before my Dad and sister left to return home, we took Miles and Tate to the aquarium, which the boys always love. Tate was finally old enough to enjoy all of the fish and to really appreciate all of the free space to run around, of which he took full advantage. Miles got to see his favorite sharks and "spiky" fish, and my dad and sis got to experience the madness for the first time.

Miles preschool class got to tour McDonalds and learn how all of their favorite foods are made. I think they all enjoyed making their own ice cream cones, eating french fries and climbing on the play equipment. Tate and I tagged along and had a great time as well.

Miles also did preschool sports again this month and loved getting to play baseball. He especially enjoyed playing and running around with his friends Chase, Carson and Mason.

One evening, I took the boys over to the mall to ride the carousel and run, climb, jump and slide at Dinotown. I rarely let the boys get too wild at home, so I think they appreciated the opportunity to get a little down and dirty. I still choose to believe that they sanitize the play equipment and scrub the carpet at Dinotown on a daily basis.

One of our favorite things we did this month was to take an outing to Hogle Zoo. Tate is really into animals now and Miles will take any chance he can get to see a rhinoceros, his favorite animal. We were especially privileged to have Grandma Kaye and Grandpa Jon join me and the boys, and the weather could not have been more perfect. The animals were all particularly alert and photogenic that day and we got to see them up close and personal.

After riding the train and making a quick stop into the zoo gift shop, we headed home with our two new additions, "Leo" the lemur, and Miles new pet rhinoceros which he appropriately named "Poky" because of the horns on his nose. We weren't in the car long before the fun day at the zoo took its toll and I had a very peaceful drive home.
